Obituary for Kathleen D. "Kay" Spackman
Kathleen D. “Kay” Spackman, 88, formerly of Madera, & Bells Landing and currently of Curwensville passed away Sunday May 3, 2009 at her residence.
Born March 24, 1921 in Madera she was the daughter of Frank and Wilamina (Wilson) Davis. She was a homemaker and a candy maker. She was a member of the Curwensville Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon and also was a member of the Presbyterian Women’s Group. In addition, she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #379 in Clearfield.
 
On March 3, 1956 at the Madera Presbyterian Church she wed J. Ross Spackman who preceded her in death on February 24, 1979. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters Geraldine Snyder, Madeline LaTerra, Gladys Smith and a brother Hursel “Pete” Davis, a stepsister Ruth Love, and a stepbrother Norman Davis.
 
She is survived by her daughter Kathy Jacobson and husband John of Glen Richey, two granddaughters Jessica Stewart and her husband Mike of Strasburg, VA, and Laura Jacobson and her significant other Mike Brewer of Fairfax, VA. Also surviving are nieces Ruth Ann Brown, Linda Condon and nephew Mort Johns as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. She was the last member of her generation.
 
Funeral Services for Mrs. Spackman will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville on Thursday May 7, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Duane Stiner and Mr. Gary Jewart co officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde, PA.
 
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday May 6, 2009 from 5-8 PM and on Thursday from 10:00 AM till the time of services at 11 AM.
 
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
