Obituary for D Alverta Hoover
D. Alverta Hoover, 92, of Curwensville, passed away Saturday May 29, 2021 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born September 15, 1928 in Curwensville, she was the daughter of Guy and Laura (Bennett) Lippert. Mrs. Hoover was retired as a seamstress for the former Kent Sportswear after 40 years of service. She was a member of the Curwensville Alliance Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for 45+ years, and was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union Local #118C.
On October 30, 1948 she wed Frederick Hoover, who preceded her in death in December of 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Beatrice, Norma, Esther, Margaret, Arlene, and Audrey; and brothers: Ralph, Floyd, Preston, and Wilmer. She was the last member of her generation.
Surviving are 2 sons: Frederick Hoover and wife Donna of Apalachin, NY and Jerry Hoover and wife Barbara of Sioux Falls, SD. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Hoover will be held at the Curwensville Alliance Church * 725 Susquehanna Avenue * Curwensville, PA 16833, on Wednesday June 2, 2021 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Stephen D. Shields officiating. Interment will be in the Bloomington Cemetery, Curwensville, PA.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday June 1 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, and again on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM
