Obituary for William Everett Patterson
William Everett Patterson, 84, of Curwensville, passed away Wednesday November 28, 2018 at Mr. Laurel Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield.
Born October 2, 1934 in Carnwath, he was the son of James and Stella (Patterson) Hunt. Mr. Patterson had been employed first by Kurtz Brothers in Clearfield for 15 years, and then went to work for the former Benjamin Coal Company where he retired from. He was a member of the Zion Baptist Church in Ansonville.
On February 3, 1968 in Winchester Virginia, he wed the former Peggy Joan Bathurust who survives along with seven children. Janet Biss and husband Jake of Ansonville, Joann Niebauer and husband Tom of Coalport, Jean Davis and husband Bill of Smoke Run, John Lantz and wife Jerry of Ill., Judy Davis and husband Brian of Kerrmoor, William E. Patterson Jr. and wife Sharon of Luthersburg and Melissa Patterson at home.
Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 31 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother James Hunt and 2 sisters; Marlene Ricketts and Elaine Hullihen. He was the last member of his generation.
Funeral Services for William Patterson Sr will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Monday December 3, 2018 at 10:00 AM, with the Reverend Richard Engle officiating. Interment will be in the Fruit Hill Cemetery New Millport.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday December 2 from 3 to 7 PM and again on Monday from 9 AM until tine of services at 10 AM.
The family suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society “Relay for Life: 108 Rear N. 2nd Street Clearfield, PA 16830.
