Obituary for Archie W. Caldwell
Archie W. Caldwell 90, of Curwensville passed away Thursday October 29, 2009 at his residence after a lengthy illness.

Born January 1, 1919 in Curwensville he was the son of Harry L. and Mabel (Swatsworth) Caldwell.  He was a member of the Community Baptist Church where he served as Song Leader, Trustee, and was a former Sunday School Teacher. He was also a member of the Northern Clearfield County Hymn Sing.  He retired from the former Howe’s Leather of Curwensville, in the Shipping and Receiving Department after 45 years of service.

On February 7, 1940 in Curwensville he wed the former Marion Rea who survives along with 5 children: Jerry Caldwell and his wife Katherine of Curwensville, Joyce Marie Swiskoski and her husband David of Loudon TN, Marsha McCracken and her husband Timothy of Curwensville, Allen “Beaver” Caldwell and his wife Holly of Clearfield, and Kent Caldwell and his wife Bonnie of Curwensville.

Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Dorothy Burns and her husband Ralph of Tampa FL, Keith Caldwell and his wife Louise, Elmer Caldwell, and William Caldwell and his wife Mary all of Curwensville, Malcolm Caldwell and his wife Roberta of O’Shanter, PA, and Norma Jean Roberts of Pedal Miss.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harry L. Caldwell, and Darrell Caldwell, and sisters Timothy Caldwell and Lorna Caldwell.

Services for Archie Caldwell will be held at the Community Baptist Church Route 453 South, Curwensville, on Monday November 2, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Todd Hogue Officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park of Hyde.

Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville on Sunday November 1 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Monday at the Church from 10 AM till the time of Service at 11 AM.

The family suggests contributions be made to the Community Baptist Church.
