Obituary for Arden Flanagan
Arden Flanagan, 83, of Olanta, passed away Tuesday evening November 22, 2022 at Penn Highlands Hospital – DuBois.
Born July 18, 1939 in Clearfield, he was the son of Daniel B. and Hazel (Eldridge) Flanagan. Arden had first worked for the former Clearfield Cheese Co. in Curwensville and then worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as a Traffic Control Specialist retiring in 2002 after 35 years of service.
He was a member of St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville, the Curwensville L.O.O.M., the Clearfield Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Curwensville VFW, and was a former member of the Curwensville Rescue Hose and Ladder Company and the former Curwensville Sons of Italy.
Arden enjoyed spending time with his family and took pride in the home his family has lived in for generations
On November 12, 1960 in Winchester, VA, he wed the former Mary Agnes Tkacik who survives along with five children: Rhonda Hamilton and husband Walt and Noreen Richards and husband Rick both of Curwensville, Daniel Flanagan and wife Debbie of Clarkston, WA, Eric Flanagan and wife A.J. of Glen Richey, and Alan Flanagan and wife Wendy of Clearfield.
Also surviving are ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Devan Shawn Flanagan on May 12, 1990.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church on Saturday December 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM, with Reverend Father Stephen Collins as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Historic Crown Crest Cemetery in Hyde.
