Obituary for Lois McGee
Betty Lois McGee, 91, of Stronach and formerly of Curwensville, passed away Saturday September 3, 2022 at her residence.
Born February 3, 1931 in Wallaceton, she was the daughter of Bruce and Ethel (Hummel) Bock. Mrs. McGee was retired as an Aid for the former Clearfield Hospital Home Health/Hospice Agency. She was United Methodist by Faith and was a member of the GFWC Curwensville Women’s Club where she had chaired the former Curwensville Days Pizza Booth.
On September 22, 1951 in Clearfield, she wed Frank McGee who preceded her in death on May 19, 1986. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son Dennis Francis McGee, a daughter-in-law Shelly (Seaburn) McGee, a son-in-law William Stadtmiller, sisters: Violet Graham, Nellie Smeal, and Dessa Shimmel, and four brothers: Gerald, Quinton, Melvin, and Merlin Bock.
Surviving are five children: Lois Stadtmiller of Curwensville, Patricia Ryder and husband Frank of Philipsburg, Frank McGee of Moody, AL, Barbara Spila and husband Mark of Stronach, Gene McGee and wife Brandy of Pendleton, IN and a daughter-in-law Helene McGee of Sunrise, FL.
Also surviving are Sixteen Grandchildren, Sixteen Great Grandchildren, a sister Jane Smeal of FL, and a brother Philip Bock and wife Mary of Tyrone.
Funeral Services for Lois McGee will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Friday September 9, 2022 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Gary B. Jewart officiating. Interment will be in the Historic Crown Crest Cemetery in Hyde.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
