Obituary for Betty Lou Johnston
Betty L. Whitaker Johnston, 80, of Curwensville, passed away Monday morning March 8, 2010 at the Clearfield Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born January 15, 1930 in Clearfield she was the daughter of Edward and Lorraine (Rowles) Richards. She retired from the Clearfield Cheese Plant after 25 years of service. She was affiliated with the Faith Bible Church in Lumber City.
She is survived by her husband Malcolm “Mac” Johnston of Stronach, 3 children Larry J. Whitaker of Dubois, Pam Wilkinson and her husband Frank of Curwensville, and LeeAnne Gilcreest and her husband Doug of Denver CO. 4 step children Cheryl Ann Muldoon and her husband William of MD, Kitty L. Johnston of Tyrone, Sandra L. Bressler and Dale E. Johnston and his wife Valerie all of Curwensville. 6 Grandchildren Jason Whitaker, Jamie Griffith, Dustin and Tyler Wilkinson, Danielle and Ashley Gilcreest. 4 step grandchildren Keshia DuFour, Geri Bressler, Alysia Johnston, and Justin Johnston. 6 Great Grandchildren. 2 sisters Ginger Kovall and her husband Connie of Grampian and Peggy Kogstrom of MI, and a brother Jack Richards and his wife Sue of AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Carl A. Whitaker, and 2 brothers Donald and Robert Richards.
Services for Betty Whitaker Johnston will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville on Thursday March 11, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Scott Schultz and Reverend Thomas Lindsey co-officiating. Interment will follow in the McClure Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc, on Wednesday March 10, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Thursday from 10-11 AM.
