Clyde “Pete” Peters  
 
Clyde R. “Pete” Peters, 84, of Curwensville, passed away Wednesday October 21, 2015 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
 
Born April 18, 1931 in Pike Township, Clearfield County, he was the son of Howard and Blanche (Norris) Deter.  He had been employed by Mid-State Amusements for 20 years.  He then along with his wife Marie owned and operated Pete and Marie’s Pondorosa Bar and Restaurant for 30 years.  After his retirement he enjoyed working at Hidden Star Farms.  He was a U S Naval Veteran of the Korean War and was affiliated with the Curwensville Presbyterian Church.
 
He was a life member of the Curwensville L.O.O.M. Family Center #268, the Curwensville Rescue Hose and Ladder Co. and the Clearfield Eagles Aerie #812.  He also was a member of the Curwensville American legion Post #505, the Curwensville VFW post # 842, and the Clearfield B.P.O.E. Lodge #540.  He also participated in the Curwensville Pool League.
 
On January 13, 1952 in Clearfield, he wed the former Marie E. Smith who survives along with 3 children:  Atlee Peters and wife Amy of Olanta, Dana Clark of Pittsburgh, and Damon Peters and wife Anne of Richfield, MN. 
 
Also surviving are 4 grandchildren Heather Ward, Brad Peters, Adam Peters and Kyle Clark, 3 step grandchildren Niki Obenour, Joseph Clark and Cory Clark, 14 great grandchildren, and a brother-in-law Marven Smith and wife Diana of Clearfield.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, a step grandson Jason Clark, an infant sister and a brother-in-law Jerry L. Smith.
 
Funeral Services for “Pete” Peters will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Monday October 26, 2015 at 11:00 AM, with Mr. Gary Jewart and Rev. Charles Taber Jr. co-officiating.  Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
 
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday October 25 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, and again on Monday from 10 AM until time of services.  The family suggests contributions be made to the Curwensville Presbyterian Church 430 Locust Street Curwensville, PA 16833
