Obituary for Constance E. (Connie) Rowles
Constance Ellen “Connie” Rowles. 69, of Olanta, passed away Monday October 22, 2012 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Born December 11, 1942 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of Gerald and Kathleen (Turner) Collins. Mrs. Rowles was a homemaker and also worked in United Methodist Ministries in the Pennsylvania United Methodist Church Western Conference along side her husband for 26 years.
She was a 1959 High Honors Graduate of Clearfield Area High School, was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Olanta, and an associate member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Sebring, FL. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing, walking in the woods, and reading.
On September 17, 1960 in Clearfield, she wed Forrest D. Rowles who survives along with four children. Eric G. Rowles and wife Lesa of Cazenovia, NY, Diana L. Hooper of Edinboro, PA, Betsy A. Tirbovich and husband Barry of Greenville, SC, and Kathleen V. Rowles of Asheville, NC.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren Zachary and Emily Rowles; Jaclyn, Jonathan, and Julia Hooper; and Kathleen and Ann Jacob; as well as six brothers and sisters: Celene McCauley and husband John of Bellefonte, Sandy Faust and husband Joe of Coudersport, and Marty Collins and wife Donna, Sue Stewart, Kristy McQuillen, and Jimmy Collins and wife Shari all of Clearfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Jed Collins and a sister Mary Gearhart.
There will be no public visitation and a memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
