Obituary for Esther (Anderson) Lee
Esther (Anderson) Lee, 88, of Curwensville passed away peacefully at home on December 18, 2020.
Born April 28, 1932 in Mahaffey, she was the daughter of Frederick and Ruth (Byers) Anderson. Esther was a homemaker, an avid bowler and hunter and enjoyed watching birds. She loved to quilt, knit and crochet, and through the years generously shared her gifts with others. When asked what she wanted for Christmas, Esther always responded, “good kids.” Esther attended the Curwensville Presbyterian Church.
On August 6, 1950 in the Mt. Zion Church in New Washington, PA, she wed R. Ned Lee, who preceded her in death on November 24, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are four children: Sandy Hummel and husband, Dan, of Lewistown, Lynne Gaul and husband, Tom, Bobbie Sopic and Jay Lee, all of Curwensville. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and a brother, James “Lindy” Anderson, and wife, Pat, of Lockport, NY. In addition, she is survived by two wonderful care givers, Lucy Lee and Kandi Pollick.
Funeral Services for Esther Lee, will be held at the Curwensville Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Gary B. Jewart officiating. Interment will be in the Mahaffey Cemetery, Banner Ridge, Mahaffey.
Friends will be received at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM. Due to COVID-19, state and CDC restrictions, masks must be worn at the church and social distancing must be maintained at all times.
