Obituary for Francis A. "Panch" Sass
Francis Arthur “Panch” Sass, 80, of Curwensville, passed away Monday October 29, 2018 at Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospital.
Born March 31, 1938 in Curwensville, he was the son of Stanley and Victoria (Perkoski) Sass. Mr. Sass was retired as a Supervisor for the former Kent’s Sportswear in Curwensville. He was a member of St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville and was a U S Army Veteran.
On November 5, 1965 he wed the former Nancy Smith who preceded him in death in October of 1981. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a son Scott Sass, Brothers: John, Stanley, Thomas, and Kenny and sisters: Christine Czarnecki, Veronica Shadeck, Genevieve Mauk and Sylvia Knepp.
Surviving is a Grandson Brandon Sass of Curwensville, a daughter-in-law Crystal Sass Ireland, a brother James Sass and wife Jean of Curwensville, and two sisters Barbara Decker of Curwensville and Elizabeth Birchall and husband Dave of Bowling Green, OH.
Funeral Services for Francis Sass will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Friday November 2, 2018 at 10 AM, with the Reverend Father L. Stephen Collins officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery of Curwensville.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday November 1 from 6 to 8 PM and again on Friday from 9 AM until time of services at 10 AM. Military Honors will be accorded at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
