Obituary for Geraldine E. Walburn
Geraldine E. Walburn 78, of Greenville, Grampian RD, passed away at her residence Sunday May 26, 2013 after a lengthy illness.
Born September 1, 1934 in Grampian she was the daughter of Clarence and Carrie Helen (Friedline) Mahlon. She was a homemaker. She was an active member of Greenville Church of the Brethren. She was a former President of the Luthersburg PTA, member of Bilger’s Rocks Association, Camp Host at Pymatuning State Park, and was also active in the Brethren Disaster Projects.
On June 12, 1953 she wed William “Bill” Walburn who survives along with 9 children Sharon Vaux and her husband Butch of Luthersburg, Marsha Stetser of NJ, Randy Walburn and his wife Diana of Sykesville, Larry Walburn and his wife Karen of Avon, Indiana, Brenda Ferguson of Grampian, Gail Maag and her husband Larry of Horsham, PA, Dennis Walburn and his wife Teri of Luthersburg, Jeff Walburn and his wife Kim of Brookville, and Chris Walburn and his wife Deb of Luthersburg. 25 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren. 2 brothers Roy Mahlon and his wife Wilma of Grampian, and Harold Mahlon Sr. of Rockton. And special family friends Dr. Earl Morgan and his wife Susan of Brockport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son in law Dan Stetser, and an infant sister Bonnie Jean Mahlon.
Funeral Services for Geraldine Walburn will be held at the Greenville Church of the Brethren on Wednesday May 29, 2013 at 11 AM with Rev. Dale Rummel officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenville Cemetery.
Friends will be received at The Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Tuesday May 28, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Wednesday at the Church from 10 Am till the time of service at 11 AM.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Greenville Church of the Brethren.
