Obituary for Harold Earl (Hop) Decker
Harold Earl “Hop” Decker, 83, of Curwensville, passed away Saturday May 7, 2016 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
 
Born May 3, 1933 in Curwensville, he was the son of James and Vera (Williams) Decker.  Mr. Decker was retired from the former Bayer Clothing Group (Kent’s Sportswear) of Curwensville and Clearfield as a manager after 38 years of service.  He was a US Marine Corp Veteran of the Korean War.
 
He was Christian, was a life member of the Rescue Hose and Ladder Co. in Curwensville, a member of the Marine Corp League and was a former member of the Curwensville L.O.O.M. Family Center #268, VFW Post #842 and the American Legion Post #505.
 
He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and all Penn State Sports.
 
On March 26, 1960 in St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville he wed the former Barbara Sass who survives along with 3 children.  Robert Decker of Clymer, Susan Fulton and husband Bill and Brett Decker and wife Melanie both of Curwensville.
 
Also surviving are six grandchildren James Decker, Isaac Decker, Nichole Unch and husband Sam, Joe Catalano and wife Erin, Marissa Decker and Kevin Decker, three step grandchildren Brian Fulton, Aaron Fulton, and Randy Fulton and his wife Brittany, two great grandchildren Andrew Larson and Allie Unch as well as two sisters Betty Croll and Shirley Neeper and husband Oscar both of Curwensville
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert, Richard, James and Frank and sisters Ruth and Mary.
 
Funeral Services for Mr. Decker will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Wednesday May 11, 2016 at 11AM with Reverend Stephen Shields officiating.  Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde.
 
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Tuesday May 10, 2016 from 5-8 pm and on Wednesday from 10 AM till the time of services at 11 AM.
 
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the family in care of the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville 300 State Street Curwensville, PA 16833
