Obituary for James Allen Fowler
James Allen Fowler 85 of the Greenville Pike, Grampian passed away Sunday January16, 2011 at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield after a lengthy illness.
Born August 29, 1925 in Morrisdale, he was the son of William and Mabel (Yingling) Fowler. Mr. Fowler was retired from the US Military having served in the U S. Army during World War II and in the U S Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.Â
He was a member of the National Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Clearfield Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #812.
On June 7, 1969 he wed the former Althea Richards who preceded him in death on October 5, 2000. He was also preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters Emma and Mary, and 4 brothers Richard, Russell, William, and Harry. He was the last member of his generation.
He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services for Mr. Fowler will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Wednesday January 26, 2011 at 11:00 AM, with Reverend Stephen Shields officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Cemetery, Morrisdale, PA.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until time of services at 11 AM.
