James D. Hunt Sr.

Dubois: James D. Hunt Sr., 72 of Dubois passed away Friday April 20, 2012 at the home of his daughter after a lengthy illness.

Born June 13, 1939 in Carnwath he was the son of John and Stella (Patterson) Hunt.  He had worked at McDonald Coal Company for 23 years as a Night Supervisor. 

On December 28, 1957 he wed Bertha A. Shepler who preceded him in death on November 1, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Sister Marlene Ricketts, Grandson Nicholas Bloom, and a Great Grandson Leonard Bloom Jr.

He is survived by 6 children: Barbara Pounds and husband Dale, Wendy Sidelinger and husband Michael, and Terry Hunt all of Dubois, James D. Hunt and wife Penny of Wallaceton, William Hunt and Fiancée Elena Young of Hyde, and LaVina Prebble and husband Jerry of Sykesville.

Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a brother William Patterson and wife Joan of Kerrmoor, and a sister Elaine Hullihen of Penfield.

Services for Mr. Hunt will be held at The Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville on Tuesday April 24, 2012 at 1 PM with Reverend Charles M. Lee Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Fruit Hill Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Monday April 23, 2012 from 6-8 PM and on Tuesday from Noon till the time of service at 1 PM.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc 300 State Street Curwensville, PA 16833.
