Obituary for Joseph B. "Joe" Litzinger
Joseph Bernard Litzinger, 60, of Carnwath, passed away Thursday morning October 10, 2011 in Curwensville.
Born November 1, 1951 in Clearfield, he was the son of John Sr. and Faye (Hunt) Litzinger. Mr. Litzinger was a caregiver and prior to that had worked for Malinky Tree Service a short time. He had attended both the Oak Ridge and Kellytown Union Churches.
On June 2, 1971 he wed the former Margaret E. “Peggy” Harris who preceded him in death on June 17, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a sister Carol Lansberry and a brother Carl Litzinger.
Surviving are 2 children Brenda Kruis and her life partner Lisa Paxton of Clearfield and Joseph Litzinger and his wife Sherry of Curwensville. In addition, he helped raise his 4 nephews Jerry, Joe, Brian, and Dave Lansberry.
Also surviving are 5 grandchildren Bobby Kruis, Nikki Erskine, Jesse Kruis, and Elizabeth Dunnsmore all of Clearfield and Kendria Berringer and her husband Everson and a great grandson Zathron Berringer all of Curwensville as well as 2 brothers and 3 sisters. John Litzinger Jr. of Carnwath, Jean Ogden and her husband Richard, Debbie Harris and Kathy Gray all of Clearfield, and Larry Saltzgiver of Patton.
Funeral Services for Mr. Litzinger will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Monday November 14, 2011 at 2:00 PM, with the Reverend Douglas Turner officiating. Interment will be in the Fruit Hill Cemetery New Millport RD.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday November 13 from 4 to 8 PM and Monday from 12 Noon until time of services.
