Obituary for Kenneth A. Braniff Sr.
Kenneth A. Braniff Sr., 89, of Clearfield, passed away Thursday July 1, 2021 at Knickerbocher Villa in Clearfield.
Born February 1, 1932 in Clearfield, he was the son of Van Allen Braniff and Elizabeth (Casher) Braniff Schultz. Mr. Braniff was a salesperson for the former Beckwith Machine (Cleveland Brothers) and held the highest United States sales record for D-9 Caterpillars and he retired in 1987. During his working career, he hosted and spoke at numerous sales conferences for Beckwith Machine Company in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.
He was a devoted Christian and was member of the Clearfield Alliance Church in Wolf Run where he was a member of the Board of Directors, was a liaison for both Pastor White and Pastor Goldberg, was church treasurer, and was the project manager when the Clearfield Alliance School was built.
He was a volunteer for the Clearfield Hospital for 32 years, enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and he liked to fly model airplanes.
Surviving are his children: Kenneth A. Braniff Jr. and wife Jackie of Hyde and Vicky Braniff and wife Lynn Harrell of Raleigh, NC.; four grandchildren: Todd M. Braniff, Jennifer Sherman and husband Nick, Michael Braniff, and Jordan Harrell; and a great granddaughter Lorilei Sherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Scott Braniff and a brother Colonel James Philip Braniff USAF (Retired). He was the last member of his generation.
There will be no public visitation.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at Styers Cemetery, LLC in Hyde with the Reverend Doctor Duane White and Reverend Robert Goldberg co-officiating.
