Obituary for Kroh Elsie Louise
Elsie Louise Kroh, 99, of Curwensville passed away Friday September 30, 2016 at her residence.

Born February 15, 1917 in Curwensville, she was the daughter of Neno and Catherine Louise (Durandetto) Durandetta. Mrs. Kroh was a Registered Nurse having been a 1935 graduate of Curwensville High School and a 1938 graduate of the Philipsburg State General Hospital School of Nursing. She first worked for the Brookville Hospital (Penn Highlands Brookville) and then worked at the Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where she retired from.

She was a member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church where for many many years served as head of the Kitchen. She was also a volunteer for the American Red Cross for numerous years and also was a member of the Curwensville VFW Post 842 Auxiliary and the Curwensville American Legion Post 505 Auxiliary.

In 1942 she wed Blake O. “Pat” Kroh who preceded her in death on August 18, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son Patrick Kroh, two grandsons Chad and Michael Wilsoncroft, and two brothers Alex and Wayne Durandetta. She was the last member of her generation

Surviving is a Daughter-in-Law Vicky L. Kroh of Curwensville, five grandchildren Tammy of Altoona, Tracey of Hastings, Dana of Arizona, Andy of Curwensville and Steven of Coalport, nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services for Mrs. Kroh will be held the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Saturday October 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend George W. Solley officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery of Curwensville.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday October 7 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and again on Saturday from 10 AM until time of services.

The family suggests contributions be made to either the Curwensville Public Library 601 Beech Street Curwensville, PA 16833 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
