Obituary for Lillian Mae Young
Lillian Mae (Swanson) Young , 96, of Summerville, PA and formerly of Curwensville, passed away Tuesday morning February 6, 2018 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Born March 29, 1921 in Sykesville, PA, she was the daughter of Arthur Edwin and Ruby Arminta (Zimmerman) Swanson. Mrs. Young was a homemaker and had also worked for Rola Electronics in Punxsutawney. She was a member of the Summerville United Methodist Church.
On October 5, 1941 in Philipsburg, PA she wed Miller Young who preceded her in death on September 19, 1984. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Karen Murray, a brother William Swanson, and sisters Ruth Lewis and Mabel Hudson.
Surviving are 2 children: Kendra Rae Woodring and husband Richard of Middletown, DE and Scott Alan Young and wife Sherry of Brookville. Also surviving is a son-in-law William Murray of Newark, DE, 9 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and a sister Gloria Guglielmi of Curwensville.
Funeral Services for Lillian Young will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville, PA on Saturday February 10, 2018 at 1:00 PM, with the Reverend William Saxman officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Curwensville, PA.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday February 9 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and again on Saturday from 11:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Summerville United Methodist Church 154 W. Penn Street Summerville, PA 15864.
