Obituary for Linda Marie Witherite
Linda Marie Witherite, 59, of Ansonville, passed away Thursday March 26, 2015 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Born August 25, 1955 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of Marvin L. Sleigh Sr. and Shirley (Gutschall) Sleigh Hockenberry. Mrs. Witherite was a seamstress having worked for the former Kent’s Sportswear in Curwensville and had also had worked for Clearfield Powdered Metals in the Quality Control Department. She attended the Faith Bible Church in Lumber City, and was a former member of the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union Local #118c
Surviving is her mother and stepfather Thomas Hockenberry of Hawk Run, her husband Roger G. Witherite whom she wed in Ansonville on May 29, 2004, 2 children Montgomery “Monty” Grumblatt Jr. and his companion Tina Cossar of Clearfield and Malinda Sloppy and husband Wade of Grampian, 2 stepchildren Tiffany Witherite and companion Chad Williams at home and Dustin Witherite and wife Nicole of Carlisle.
Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, a sister and 2 brothers: Deborah English and husband Ray of Morrisdale, Marvin Sleigh Jr. and wife Nila of Silverdale, WA, and Franklin Sleigh and Partner Joanne of Philipsburg.
She was preceded in death by her father and an infant brother David Sleigh.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Witherite will be conducted at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. Curwensville, on Saturday March 28, 2015 at 1 PM, with the Reverend Scott Schultz officiating. Interment will be in the Watts Cemetery Redden Hill, Bells Landing.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday March 27 from 6 to 9 PM and again on Saturday from 11 AM until time of services at 1 PM
