Obituary for M. Evelyn Timko
M. Evelyn Timko, 94, of Curwensville, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at the Clearfield Hospital. Â
Born August 1, 1914 in Pike Township, Clearfield County, she was the daughter of James and Minnie (Smith) Edmiston. Mrs. Timko was retired from the former Guglielmi Drug Store in Curwensville as a clerk. She is a member of St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She had also been a member of the Clearfield-Curwensville Country Club for Many years. Â
Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews including a niece Cheryl and husband Roger Johnston, a nephew William Sr. and wife Connie Wetzel both of Curwensville and a nephew Jeff Edmiston of Florida. Â
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Michael Timko on July 17, 2000, brothers Bill, James, and Robert Edmiston and sisters Dorothy Kelly and LoDema Cassidy. She was the last member of her generation. Â
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville on Friday July 24, 2009 at 10:00 AM, with the Reverend Father Mark J. Mastrian as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery of Curwensville. Â
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Thursday July 23 from 4 to 8 PM, and Friday from 9 to 9:30 AM, when the procession will depart for the church. Â
A Scripture Vigil Services will be conducted Thursday at 4:15 PM, followed by the reciting of the Rosary at 4:30 PM, both at the funeral home. Â
The family suggests contributions be made to either St. Timothy’s Church 306 Walnut St. Curwensville, PA 16833 or the Curwensville Public Library 601 Beech St. Curwensville, PA 16833 Â
