Obituary for Snook Shively
Marvin Ray “Snook” Shively, 83, of West Decatur, passed away Tuesday December 7. 2021 at his residence.

Born May 15, 1938 in West Decatur, he was the son of Ray Franklin and Adah B. (Kanouff) Shively. Mr. Shively was a truck Driver and had worked for Peerless Trucking, Bradford Coal Company, Merriman Trucking, and was retired in 2001 from Classic Freight. Prior to truck driving he had worked for Loblaw Groceries and Hooke Chemical Co. both in Niagara Falls, NY.

He was a member of the Teamsters Union and was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church of West Decatur where he was a member and treasurer of the Trustees.

On December 31, 1988 in Niagara Falls, NY, he wed the former Sandra K. “Sandy” Shaw who survives along with six children: Deborah Lynn Pleskonko and husband Michael of West Decatur; Ray Franklin Shively and significant-other Debra McFall of Turtle Point; Rhonda Kay Myers and significant-other David Shaw of Philipsburg; Daniel Lee Knepp and Susan Renee Moore both of Bigler; and David Brian Knepp of Clearfield.

Also surviving are Fourteen Grandchildren, Twenty-Five Great Grandchildren, and a sister Janet Pinto of Niagara Falls, NY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter Tory Ann Pleskonko-Marvin and two brothers Richard and Robert Shively.

At the request of Mr. Shively there will be no public visitation

Private visitation and services for family and church family will be held at the convenience of the family at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville with Pastor Brian McTavish officiating. Interment will be in the Reedy Cemetery in Wallaceton.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Salem United Methodist Church * c/o 1676 Wallaceton-Bigler Highway * West Decatur, PA 16878.
