Mearle G. “Mag” Bressler
Clearfield: Mearle G. “Mag” Bressler 93 of Olanta passed away Monday February 20, 2023 at Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness.
Born May 31, 1929 in Glen Richey, he was the son of Willis and Elzada (Ogden) Bressler. He owned and operated Mearle Bressler Trucking for over 50 years where he hauled coal for various companies during that time. He raised and trained Fox Hounds for numerous years and even won a competition during that time. He also shot trap and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a member of the Curwensville Sportsman, Old Town Sportsman, and Anderson Creek Sportsman.
On December 24, 1947 in Olanta, he wed Patricia Jane Rishel Bressler who survives along with 5 children Ronald Bressler (Joyce) of Clearfield, Robert Bressler (Linda) of Morrisdale, Gilbert “Gib” Bressler and his significant other Carol Polites of Grampian, Gary M. Bressler (Debbie) Curwensville, and Scott Bressler (Patricia) of Olanta. 10 Grandchildren Stacy Bressler (Phyllis), Brandie Bressler, Toni Rowles (Fred), Patty Maier, Steven Bressler, Eric Bressler (Brittany), Lindsey Bressler, Matthew Bressler (Holly), Paula Witherite (Keith), Adam Bressler (Dawn). 25 great grandchildren, and numerous great great grandchildren.
He was the last member of his generation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 grandchildren Barry Bressler, and Robert Bressler Jr. Brothers Gerald, Willis, Roy, and Ardell Bressler. Sisters Lila Spath, and Audrey Brown.
Funeral Services for Mr. Bressler will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville, on Thursday February 23, 2023 at 1 PM with Pastor Scott Schultz officiating. Interment will follow in the Williams Cemetery.
Friends and Family will be received on Wednesday February 22, 2023 from 5-8 PM and on Thursday from 12 PM till the time of services at 1 PM.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Clearfield County SPCA 275 21st St. Clearfield, PA 16830.
