Obituary for Michael Wayne Pentz
Michael Wayne Pentz, 59, of Stronach, Grampian RD, passed away Monday June 8, 2009 at his residence.

Born March 2, 1950 at the Clearfield Hospital, he was the son of Cleo Wayne and Joann (Michael) Pentz. Mr. Pentz was currently employed by Forcey Coal Co. as a heavy equipment operator, and prior to that had been employed by Thunder Coal Co as Vice President, Hepburnia Coal Co. and Curry and Associates. He was a 1968 graduate of Curwensville Area High School and a 1974 graduate of Penn State University with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering.

He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Grampian, was a United States Naval Veteran of the Vietnam War, and was a member of Noble Lodge #480 F. & A.M. Curwensville.

Surviving are 2 children; Daren and his wife Carrie (Donahue) Pentz and Tina and her husband James Fleming III both of Curwensville, 5 grandchildren Taylor Vaughn, Skylar Pentz, and Michael, Jorja, and Davis Fleming. Also surviving are 2 brothers Thomas Pentz and wife Mollie of Curwensville, and Chris Pentz and wife Gale of Clearfield, and an Uncle Kent Michael and his wife Cindy of Grampian.

In addition, he is survived by his former wife Roberta Spencer, his fiancée Janet McKeown, as well as many loving members of the McKeown family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.Â

Services for Mr. Pentz will be held at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church Sixth Street Grampian, PA on Thursday June 11, 2009 at 2:00 PM, with the Reverend Emmett Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Friends Cemetery, Grampian.

Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Wednesday June 10 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM, and Thursday from 12 Noon until 1:30 PM, when the procession will depart for the church.

A Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted by members of the Noble Lodge #480 F. & A.M. of Curwensville Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM.

Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside by members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Joint Honor Guard.
