Obituary for Mona Lou Christensen
Mona Lou Christensen, 77, of Grampian, passed away Wednesday January 20, 2016 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.

Born October 24, 1938 In DuBois, she was the daughter of Harry Clyde and Anna Valeska (Thomas) Hatten. Mrs. Christensen was the former owner/operator of the Forest Way Inn Bar and Restaurant in Brookville, PA, and currently was operating a van for Bob Clepper Transportation Services in DuBois.

She was a member of the Bible Fellowship Church in Draucker’s Woods, Luthersburg and also was a member of the Brookville Eagles.

On October 14, 1995 she wed Frederick A. Christensen who survives along with two daughters and a stepson. Lori Barber and husband Jamie and Stacey Altemus and husband Barry Sr. both of Grampian and Frederick Christensen Jr. of Cooksburg.

Also surviving are two grandsons Gary Luzier Jr. and wife Kasey and Shawn Luzier and wife Kay, a granddaughter Baylee, eight great grandchildren Seth, Gavin, Owen, Sadie, Alex, Talyn, Leksi and Camden, a sister Verna Demmick of Newburg, WV and twelve nieces and nephews. She was very loving to her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Robert Hatten and two sisters Mary Carol Hatten and Dorothy Morgan.

Services for Mrs. Christensen will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville, PA on Monday January 25, 2016 at 2 PM, with the Reverend Charles M. Lee Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery Grampian.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday January 24 from 3 to 6 PM, and again on Monday from Noon until time of services at 2.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude’s Place Memphis, TN 38105.
