Obituary for Preston V. Johnston
Preston V. Johnston Sr. 73 of Grampian passed away Sunday November 1, 2009 at his residence.
Born May 15, 1936 in Clearfield he was the son of Malvin and Hattie (Bell) Johnston. He was the owner operator of Johnston Trucking. He was a US Army Veteran. He belonged to Grampian Sportsman Club, Hyde Volunteer Fire Company, and Mosquito Creek Sportsman Club. He enjoyed Nascar and Raising White Tail Deer.
On May 31, 1963 in Grampian he wed Dorothy Polites who preceded him in death on June 24, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter Kris E. Johnston.
He is survived by 2 children Preston V. Johnston Jr. of Grampian and Kelly Lynn Johnston of Kalaheo, HI, a granddaughter Alexis Lima of HI. Brother Malvin “Bud” Johnston Jr. and his wife Barbara of Indiana, sisters Mary Ann Lingle and her husband Mel and Jane Hartman both of Clearfield.
At the request of Mr. Johnston there will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be held in the St. Bonaventure’s Cemetery, Grampian, PA.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Clearfield County SPCA 541 Graham Station Road, Philipsburg, PA 16866
