Obituary for Richard C. Flynn
Richard C. Flynn, 93, of Grampian, passed away Friday February 18, 2011 at the DuBois Nursing Home

Born June 16, 1917 in Walltown, Penn Township, he was the son of Charles and Maude (Zortman) Flynn.  Mr. Flynn was a Barber for many years in Grampian, and was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Grampian.  He also served in the Civilian Conservation Corp in Sedona, AZ and was a U S Army Veteran of World War II.  In 2008, he was named the Grampian “Citizen of the Year”.

He was wed to the former Ruth Olive Gelnett, who preceded him in death on December 28, 2010.  He was also preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters Ruby Wall and Alice McCartney and a brother Fred H. Flynn

Surviving are 2 children Richard A. Flynn and Debra Lee Flynn both of Grampian.  Also surviving are 2 grandchildren Charles and Blainanne Flynn, and a sister Verna Mae Anderson of DuBois.

Funeral Services for Mr. Flynn will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Monday February 21, 2011 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Howard Lindsey officiating.  Interment will be in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery Grampian RD.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday February 20 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, and Monday from 10 AM until the time of services.

The family suggests contributions be made to the Orphans of the Storm c/o 412 Hill Street Curwensville, PA  16833.
