Obituary for Richard Lawrence (Mubby) Witherite
Richard Lawrence “Mubby” Witherite, 72, of Curwensville, passed away Tuesday morning January 1, 2013 at his residence.
Born July 15, 1940 in Clearfield, he was the son of Cloyd and Nellie (Farwell) Witherite. Mr. Witherite had been a truck driver for the former Clearfield Cheese Co. in Curwensville, and then had been a heavy equipment operator first for the former Benjamin Coal Co. and was retired from the Skyhaven Coal Co. He was Methodist by Faith and was a member of the Curwensville VFW and a former member of the Curwensville American Legion.
On August 19, 1961 in Grampian, he wed the former Carol A. Smith who survives along with his mother of Curwensville, and 2 children Rickey Witherite and wife Kathy and Lori Bilger and husband Jeff both of Curwensville.
Also surviving are 4 grandchildren Bradley Witherite and wife Jodie, Kellie Jo Max and husband Johnston, Shannon Sipel and husband Corey, and Ryan Bilger and wife Lindsey and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
At the request of Mr. Witherite there will be no public visitation and private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family
