Obituary for Robert Glenn DuFour Sr.
Robert Glenn DuFour, 75, of Curwensville, passed away Wednesday October 10, 2012 at his residence.
 
Born December 2, 1936 in Grampian, he was the son of Alex and Ruth (Fredricks) DuFour.  Mr. DuFour was first self-employed having owned his own backhoe service, then worked for various coal mining companies as a heavy equipment operator, and retired from Benjamin Coal Company.  He was also an avid camper, hunter, woodworker, and enjoyed boating and fishing.
 
He was a member of the Curwensville Rescue Hose and Ladder Co. and the Curwensville American Legion Post 505, and was a former member of the Curwensville VFW and Curwensville L.O.O.M. #268.
 
On October 13, 1956 in Curwensville, he wed the former Eva Mae Neeper who survives along with 4 children.  Linda S. Best and husband Tom of Grampian, William J. DuFour and wife Darlene and Kathy L. Bloom and husband Michael both of Curwensville, and Robert G. DuFour Jr. and companion Marjann of Glen Richey, 10 grandchildren Branden Best and wife Lindsey, Tyler Best and companion Heidi Ogden, Jerek Best, Jason DuFour and wife Nicki, Jessica DuFour and companion Tom Crain, Bille Jean DuFour, Eric Bloom and wife Andrea, Corey Bloom and wife Kristin, Bryan DuFour, Kodie DuFour, 2 step grandchildren Stephanie and Cory Clark, and 11 great grandchildren.
 
Also surviving are 2 brothers Gerald DuFour and wife Libby of Beech Creek and Ardell DuFour and wife Donna, 4 sisters Ruth Haley and husband John of North Tonawanda, NY, Deloris Miller and husband Carl of Muncy, Doris Solley and companion Bob McCartney, Hazel Weber and Companion Milford Bloom, and a sister-in-law Ann DuFour of Ohio.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter Kristi Ann Best, his twin Brother Billy DuFour, and 4 other brothers Louis, Arthur, George, and Ernie DuFour.
 
Funeral Services for Robert DuFour will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. in Curwensville on Saturday October 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Daniel Osterhout officiating.  Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery Curwensville.
 
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, and Saturday from 10 AM until time of services.
 
The family suggests contributions be made to either the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, The Shriner's Hospitals for Burn Victims, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
