Obituary for Ronald W. "Sandy" Hamilton
Ronald William “Sandy” Hamilton, 84, of Bloomington, passed away Wednesday May 20, 2009 at his residence. 
Born February 7, 1925 in Carnwath, PA, he was the son of Robert Joseph and Geraldine (Stiles) Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton had worked as a miner, had worked for the former Harbison-Walker Refractories in Clearfield, and was retired from The Progress in Clearfield.
 
He was affiliated with the Community Baptist Church in Bloomington, was a US Naval Veteran of World War II, and is a member of the Curwensville L.O.O.M. #268 and the Curwensville American Legion Post #505.
 
On October 19, 1946, he wed the former Florence I. “Jean” Patterson who preceded him in death on October 21, 1997. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Richard Proud, and three brothers Ernest, Jesse, and Warren Hamilton. He was the last member of his generation.
 
Surviving are 6 children: Ronald Hamilton of Indiana, PA, Priscilla Bumbarger and her husband Donald and Cindy Snyder both of Bloomington, Karen Proud of Pine Grove, and Nancy Coudriet and her husband Sherman and Walter Hamilton and his wife Rhonda both of Curwensville. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
 
Services, for Mr. Hamilton, will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville, on Sunday May 24, 2009 at 2:00 PM, with the Reverend Todd T. Hogue officiating. Interment will be in the Fruit Hill Cemetery, New Millport, PA.
 
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday May 23, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, and Sunday from 12:00 Noon until time of services. Military Honors will be accorded at the funeral home by members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Joint Honor Guard.
 
The family suggests contributions be made to the Clearfield Foundation for Health – Hospice.
