Obituary for Russell E. "Rusty" Knepp
Russell E. “Rusty” Knepp, 80, of Grampian, passed away Thursday morning October 1, 2009, at his residence, after a lengthy illness.
Born December 16, 1928 in Clearfield, he was the son of Russell L. and Pauline (Mattey) Knepp. He retired from Beckwith as a Diesel Mechanic after 40 years of service. He was a United States Navy Veteran where he served in the Korean War. He also was a past Boy Scouts Troop Leader of Grampian Troop #11.
On July 27, 1955 in Madison Indiana, he wed the former Dorothy Rowles, who survives, along with 8 children. Pauline Davis and her husband Michael of FL, Russell “Ed” Knepp Jr. and his wife Linda and Belinda McCracken and her husband Dennis both of Curwensville, Kelly Malone and her husband Kevin of WV, Connie Blake and her husband Richard of Houston TX, Jennifer Fredrickson of Alaska, Natalie Orcutt and her husband Gary of Rockton, and Patrick Knepp and his wife Jennifer of Erie, PA.
Also surviving are 21 Grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a brother Kenneth Knepp and his wife Connie of Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Ethelyn “Essie” Knepp.
At the request of Mr. Knepp there will be no public visitation.
A public memorial gathering will be held at the St. Bonaventure’s Roman Catholic Church in Grampian on Saturday October 17, 2009 from 10-12:30 PM. Military honors will be accorded at the Friends Cemetery on Saturday October 17, 2009 at 1:00 PM with members of the Clearfield Honor Guard.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Boy Scouts of America Local Chapter 209 First Street Dubois, PA 15801.
