Obituary for Thomas Charles Ogden
Thomas Charles Ogden, 90, of Clearfield passed away Thursday April 6. 2017 at the Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield.
Born May 5, 1926 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of Charles Matthew and Kathryn (Knight) Ogden. Mr. Ogden was a U S Army Air Corp Veteran of the Second World War and was retired from the Sheet Metal Workers Union #12 after 25 plus years of service.
He was a member of B.P.O.E. Lodge #540 in Clearfield where he was named Elk of the Year twice and had served on various committees. He also was a member of the Clearfield American Legion and the Clearfield VFW. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer, loved to travel in his motor home and loved caring for rescued pets.
On February 6, 1986 in Clearfield, he wed the former Barbara Cupples who survives along with a daughter Peggy Campbell and husband Ed of Florida, 2 stepdaughters Terry Killion and husband Paul of Hyde and Tracey Dixon Taft and husband Jack of Warren, a granddaughter Christine Clickner and husband Dan of Michigan, a great granddaughter Alexandra Clickner and a sister Margaret Hoyt of Hyde as well as 8 step grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 stepsons Douglas and Scott Dixon.
Funeral Services for Mr. Ogden will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield on Wednesday April 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Stephen Shields officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Joy Cemetery Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday April 11 from 6 to 8 PM and again on Wednesday from 10 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM.
The Clearfield Lodge #540 B.P.O.E. will conduct Elk Memorial Services Tuesday at 6:00 PM and military Honors will be conducted at the graveside by members of the Clearfield Honor Guard.
