Obituary for William "Bill" Husak
William “Bill” Husak, 82, of Midland TX and formerly of Curwensville passed away Monday January 24, 2011 in Midland.
Born September 22, 1928 in Irvona, PA he was the son of Andrew and Sophie (Stietch) Husak. He was a graduate of Curwensville Area High School where he also played football. He was a United States Army Veteran WWII where he served in the 1st Calvary division.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Oklahoma in Geology. He was employed by Cities Service Oil Company who later was purchased by Occidental Petroleum. He worked all over the United States and he retired after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Midland, and also a member of the Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War.
He is survived by a friend Janelle Reeves of Midland TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers and sisters: Olga, Anne, Mary, John, Michael and Donald Husak. He was the last member of his generation.
A Mass of Divine Liturgy will be said at St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville on Friday January 28, 2011 at 1PM with Father Robert Yetsko, T.O.R. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday January 27 from 6 to 8 PM and on Friday from 12 Noon until the procession departs for the church at 12:45 PM.
