Obituary for Helen Marie Hale
Helen Marie Hale, 94, a resident of Ridgeview Elder Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville, and formerly of Curwensville, passed away Friday March 28, 2014 at the center.
 
Born January 12, 1920 in Goshen, she was the daughter of Oscar and Martha (Taylor) Hoyt.  She was then raised by her adoptive parents James E. and Anne (Hoyt) McKenrick.  She had been employed by the former silk mill in Curwensville, the former Park Hotel in Curwensville, and was retired from the former CSB Bank, now Northwest Savings Bank in the janitorial staff.
 
She was a member of St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville and was an avid bingo player.
 
She had wed John P. Hale who preceded her in death on August 16, 1981.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers: George and Thomas Hoyt and William, Smith, Boyd, and Ernest McKenrick, and 4 sisters: Roxanna Hoyt Schultz, Mary Hoyt Evans, Anne Hoyt Parlavechio, and Louise McKenrick Peterman.  She was the last member of her generation.
 
Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville on Wednesday April 2, 2014 at 10:00 AM, with Msgr H. Desmond McGee Jr. as celebrant.  Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville. 
 
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc., of Curwensville on Tuesday April 1 from 6 to 8 PM, and again Wednesday morning from 9 to 9:30 AM, when the procession will depart for the church.
 
A  Scripture Vigil Service will be conducted at 5:30 PM Tuesday followed by the reciting of the Rosary by members of St. Timothy Altar and Rosary Society at 5:45 PM, both at the funeral home.
 
The family suggests contributions be made to St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church 306 Walnut Street Curwensville, PA 16833
